The beach at Freshwater bay boasts some of the most impressive scenery on the Island and is only 100yds from Blenheim cottage. Freshwater bay is relatively unspoiled and offers local amenities including tea rooms,the Albion hotel (open to non-residents),
a Post Office, general store and the Freshwater Lifeboat shop selling souvenirs.

Within a few minutes drive are the unspoiled beaches at Compton Bay, the coloured sands of Alum bay and Hanover point where you can walk in the footprints of dinosaurs. The island is a geological marvel with the fossilised remains of dinosaurs, sharks, Petrified Forest and other marine creatures waiting to be picked up by the curious.

To relax, we can recommend the Fat Cat on the Bay restaurant and the Fat Cat bar which is only a few minutes stroll from Blenheim cottage and an even shorter roll back!
