Totland Bay has a delightful small beach with a short esplanade
and a privately owned pier. The shingle on the shore changes
to fine sand once in the water. Nearby is Alum Bay renowned
for its coloured sands and pleasure park with its chair-lift to the
beach below
.

To the east of Totland are the golden sands of Collwell
Bay, a popular family beach with beach huts, windsurfing,
canoeing and other water sports.

Surfers are well catered for at Compton which boasts
some of the best waves in the UK and diving is popular
with many wrecks to explore.
The west coast has many remote and beautiful
beaches, accessible from the road or coastal
footpath. Discover picturesque villages, whose
mellow stone cottages, ancient pubs and churches
invite you to stay awhile and explore.

Brighstone, Brook, Shalfleet, Mottistone, Shorwell
and Calbourne whose famous Winkle Street has
inspired many artists and photographers are all just
a few minutes drive from Blenheim Cottage as is
Compton bay which inspired us to make the
island our home.
